What’s the purpose of Project Management?

Although project management is often overlooked in the creative process—it’s the driving force behind any venture.

Effective project management can push a project to the fullest of its potential, creating work that surpasses the wildest of expectations. On the other hand, poor project management can stall productivity, stifle creativity, or kill a project entirely.

• Scope – Project management is imperative for organisations implementing wide-ranging or comprehensive projects. Scope refers to the breadth of a project, or how much of the business will be affected, and the bigger the project, the more details and planning are required to successfully bring it to fruition. Carrying out a wide-scale business endeavour requires careful coordination to ensure minimal impact on ongoing sales and production.
• Strategy – it’s important that both your team and the client have a clear understanding of the project and its desired outcome. Regardless of the undertaking, strategy u and should be the basis of all decisions. There should also be a consensus on important details like the budget and timeline.
• Clear Communication – All of this is accomplished through clear and consistent communication. Good project management involves no shortage of dialogue between team members, clients, and anyone else that should be in the loop.  Constructive criticism pushes your team to do their best and makes expectations clear. If someone is already producing phenomenal work, be sure to recognise it and let them know.
• Budget – Project management helps keep projects on budget. A good project management plan identifies anticipated costs early on to develop a realistic budget. Using resource conflict solutions, project managers can minimise the effect of funding a new project on operating capital by optimising the allocation of workers.
